Ingredients

  • 2 racks pork ribs
  • 1 tablespoon salt
  • 1 tablespoon black pepper
  • 1 tablespoon paprika
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1 teaspoon onion powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon chili powder
  • 1 cup barbecue sauce
  • 2 tablespoons brown sugar
  • 1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce
  • 1/2 cup water

Instructions

Prepare the ribs

  • Remove membrane from ribs. Pat dry with paper towels for better seasoning and flavor absorption.

Make the dry rub

  • Mix salt, pepper, paprika, garlic powder, onion powder and chili powder in a small bowl evenly.

Season the ribs

  • Rub spice mix all over ribs. Press gently so spices stick well and flavor the meat.

Cut for crock pot

  • Cut ribs into smaller sections. This helps them fit easily inside the slow cooker.

Add liquid base

  • Pour water and Worcestershire sauce into crock pot. This keeps ribs moist during cooking.

Place ribs in crock pot

  • Stack ribs inside carefully. Do not overcrowd for even cooking and better tenderness.

Slow cook

  • Cook on low for 6 hours or high for 3–4 hours until meat is very tender.

Add barbecue sauce

  • Remove ribs and brush with barbecue sauce mixed with brown sugar. Coat evenly for sticky glaze.

Broil for finish (optional)

  • Place ribs on baking tray and broil for 5–7 minutes. This creates a caramelized, crispy top layer.

Notes

  • Use baby back ribs for softer texture
  • Add smoked paprika for deeper flavor
  • Use honey instead of brown sugar
  • Cook overnight on low for extra tenderness
  • Finish on grill for smoky taste
  • Add hot sauce for spicy version
