Ingredients
  

  • 1 9- inch pie crust homemade or store-bought
  • 1 1/2 cups pecan halves toasted
  • 3/4 cup corn syrup light or dark
  • 1/2 cup brown sugar
  • 1/4 cup unsalted butter melted
  • 3 large eggs
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt

Instructions
 

Preheat Oven

  • Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). Place pie crust in a 9-inch dish and trim edges if necessary.

Toast Pecans

  • Spread pecans on a baking sheet. Toast in oven 5–7 minutes until fragrant. Cool slightly.

Prepare Filling

  • In a mixing bowl, whisk together corn syrup, brown sugar, melted butter, eggs, vanilla and salt until smooth.

Add Pecans

  • Stir in toasted pecans, reserving a few for decoration on top.

Pour into Crust

  • Pour filling into prepared pie crust. Smooth the top with a spatula.

Decorate Pie

  • Arrange reserved pecans on top for a decorative look.

Bake Pie

  • Bake in preheated oven for 45–50 minutes. Center should be set but slightly jiggly.

Cool Pie

  • Remove from oven and let cool completely at room temperature to allow filling to set.

Serve

  • Slice pie with a sharp knife. Serve as is or with whipped cream or vanilla ice cream.

  • Use dark corn syrup for a richer, deeper flavor
  • Add bourbon or vanilla bean for extra aroma
